29 October 07 - 19:55Oh, Digg. Again.

Hey, who said Digg can't provide journalism on par with several high-quality game magazines?

Valleywag calls this sort of thing loser generated content. Luckily, Digg has the foresight to provide an "inaccurate" button.

29 October 07 - 11:06Bush + Science = NOES

If you're halfway informed, I'm sure you've already heard about the Bush administration chopping up a CDC speech that disagreed with their tiny, pinheaded little aims. They also screwed up the grammar on it while chopping it up, but bad grammar has never been a particular concern for the governing bodies of the United States, so who cares?

Well, BA posted an excellent entry on the whole matter. I'm just going to quote one of the commentators here, because I can't say it any better:

You know, I really want to comment, but unfortunately, I am far too ticked off at this point (and, with respect to your comment policy’s stance on profanity, it’s probably best I clam up for a while). However, these antics by the Bush administration to create and enforce public stupidity by stultifying any scientific findings which are far above their vacuous little heads should be considered criminal, and it’s entirely baffling that anyone in their right mind could support this cabal of ridiculous, intellectually-infantile, halfwits.

I saw this today and was rather depressed:

16 October 07 - 20:50RIAA wins again

The RIAA is suing Usenet.com when supposedly they want to actually sue the Usenet. While we can all have a good laugh about this, it turns out Usenet.com is actually one of those shifty binary mirroring sites, which should actually serve to distract the RIAA from NNTP's bounty for the time being -- at least until they find out that other Usenet mirroring sites offer the same files!

09 October 07 - 08:12Nearly obligated to write this

Some conservative bloggers don't like the Google Sputnik logo.

Yeah. Like the related Fark thread says, I wish a Google logo were the worst of my problems.
